This year Network Rail Scotland attended five summer shows across Scotland to spread the word about Scotland’s Railway.
Scottish Land and Estates hosted Network Rail at the Royal Highland Show, the GWCT Scottish Game Fair at Scone, the Border Union Show, and the Turriff Show. Bell Ingram kindly accommodated the team at the Perth Show.
All the shows offered us an opportunity to engage with our lineside neighbours and stakeholders, and to explain the challenges and risks that we must collectively manage. It was also a chance to share the fantastic work that we are doing to protect and encourage sustainable diversity of our lineside environment.
This is the second year of attending these shows, and the response has been fantastic from the many hundreds of people who stopped to talk to the team.
Specifically, at the Royal Highland Show, one of Scotland’s most iconic events, Network Rail sponsored Scottish Land & Estates (SLE) Members' Reception which gave the team a chance to speak to attendees about how Network Rail are working to make the network more resilient in the face of our changing climate.
