We'll soon be constructing a new railway station at Balgray, to the south of Barrhead, on the railway line between Glasgow and Neilston.
The station will have a car park, bus stop and active travel links, and will provide rail connections to Glasgow for several new housing developments in the area as well as providing direct access to Dams to Darnley Country Park and Balgray reservoir.
Public Information, Events & Consultation
We will be holding regular public engagement events throughout the development of the station, particularly for those living closest to the proposed station site, as well as working with local schools and community groups.
We held a public information drop-in on Tuesday 12 December at the Auchenback Resource Centre (ARC), where we shared early concept drawings of the station layout and the outline design of the footbridge and waiting shelters.
There will be more public information events in 2025.
